The NMHU Cowboys opened up the 2010 season on a rough note as they fell to the #17 Midwestern State University Mustangs by a final score of 52-6 on 9/2 in Las Vegas, NM. The Cowboys had some bright moments in the lopsided loss and show some promise for the upcoming season. Look for the Cowboys to bounce back from their opening week stumble as they take on the Oklahoma Panhandle State University Aggies on 9/11 in Goodwell, Okla.

The 2010 NMHU Cowboys are set to take the field in their 2010 home opener as they take on the Mustangs of Midwestern State University on 9/2 at 7:00 pm in Perkins Stadium. The Cowboys look to avenge the 41-0 loss they experienced at the hands of the Mustangs in their 2009 opener. The Cowboys have made some addition since then and look to turn some heads in their 2010 opener. The Mustangs will be a worthy opponent as they come into the Las Vegas with a preseason ranking of 17th in the nation according to the latest AFCA poll.
